(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20, 2007, an article describing July 20 as a day marked with suffering for 100 million practitioners of Falun Gong, appeared in ten community newspapers in Auckland, New Zealand, with a photo showing the brutality of the persecution published alongside the article. The newspapers were distributed to the mailboxes of at least 420,000 homes.

Too much stress in your life? The Chinese practice of Falun Dafa (or Falun Gong), which involves gentle exercise and meditation my be just what you need. It's starting to catch on in Rotorua with a small group now regularly meeting at the lakefront for afternoon sessions. Those who practice Falun Dafa say it brings better health and inner peace. Classes are free and run by volunteers. Rooted in ancient Chinese culture, Falun Dafa was introduced to the public in China in 1992 but in the past two years "practitioners" say they have been persecuted and subjected to beatings and torture after a government-ordered crackdown. An international movement is now calling for the persecution to stop.
