A Kiwi Practitioner's Open Letter

May, 2004

My name is Tahu Parkinson. I am a young NZ Maori born practitioner of Falun Dafa, (Falun Gong), a peaceful ancient meditation practice that guides the elevation and improvement of one's moral character through the supreme principles of TRUTHFULNESS, COMPASSION, FORBEARANCE taught by Master Li Hongzhi. 

In China, the arrest and sentencing of Falun Dafa Practitioners, including the torturous beatings and murders have completely defied the universal declaration of human rights, which is upheld worldwide by all established countries. Those who are responsible for the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners have been identified and International Human Rights groups throughout the world are currently investigating the names of over 100 Chinese Officials. Many major countries have also filed lawsuits against Jiang Zemin and his followers for Human Rights abuses and Genocide. The Brutal murders of Falun Gong Practitioners in police custody are constantly being exposed and those who have committed these unpardonable sins will no longer be able to hide from the pain and suffering they have caused others. These actions are of the cruellest nature and stray far from that of our human conscience. Ultimately good is rewarded and evil receives punishment. No one will escape justice for their violent crimes.

Falun Dafa transcends cultural, social, national and economic boundaries, as the practice has no religious rituals, place of worship or hierarchy and is absolutely no threat to any political regime. It is completely free to all ages with no obligation or membership. Why anybody would oppose Falun Dafa and the principles of Truth, Compassion and Tolerance is beyond rationality.

What is the real focus of the government relating to the decisions that have been made supporting the persecution? Maybe the truthful teaching of Falun Dafa enabled people to realise higher levels of truth and freedom, enabling the Chinese people to expose the negative, controlling, selfish and jealous nature of a limited group within the Chinese government.. 

The slanderous propaganda created by the Chinese government to defame Falun Dafa is completely false and cannot be understood to be a true representation of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance. These lies will cause problems in the future when the Chinese people come to realise the truth and lose faith in their leaders. These blatant lies are an outrageous and irresponsible use of government resources to poison the minds of the Chinese people. The fear caused by the persecution has severely interrupted daily life in China and stopped so many more from being able to experience this wonderfully elevating approach to peace and prosperity. The huge amount of money that has been wasted persecuting Falun Dafa could well have been more wisely directed toward more important social issues such as poverty and education, rather then being wasted to mobilise large-scale police forces to target innocent people and build correction centres to hold the many thousands of highly respected and completely innocent practitioners that have been illegally detained and murdered. This is yet another example of the degenerated leadership who have failed to support the righteous and punish the wicked. 

Recently 74 non-Government agencies that attended the UN Human Rights conference unanimously agreed to condemn the Chinese Government for the unjustified persecution of Falun Dafa. The dark motives of a number of Government Officials has allowed the Chinese leadership to demonstrate a totally degenerate, inhuman and irrational approach to the prosperity and wellbeing of the Chinese people by denying the right to choose to practice Falun Dafa as a peaceful way of life. 

The world is quickly sobering to the truth of Falun Dafa and the true situation in China. Those who've awakened to the truth no longer listen to the corrupt lies that are being spread to interfere with the minds of innocent people. I urge you all to awaken to the real TRUTH of the situation, to discover it for yourselves and bring to an end five years of personal violation and a vicious repression of Falun Dafa, which purely promotes righteous freedom and peace, creating a harmonious environment for the prosperity of China and the world. I wish for the best things for you all and hope you can quickly realise how wrongly Falun Dafa is being treated. 

Please STOP Persecuting Falun Dafa in China by spreading kindness.

Since July 1999, the Chinese people have not been allowed to practice Falun Dafa, although it is practiced openly in over 50 countries worldwide. Personally I have found Mr Li's teachings to be highly elevating, profound and boundless, far exceeding any literature that I had previously read. Expounding universal truths, Mr Li's holistic approach revealed the immense wisdom that I had previously sought in my quest for a righteous teaching, something I have not found in any other Teaching. The 5 simple and gentle exercises are both energising and deeply relaxing consistently increasing inner peace and tranquillity. Personally I have experienced both mental clarity and stress relief in my work and personal life, increased wisdom and spiritual fulfilment. Along with millions of people worldwide, I have found Falun Dafa to be highly beneficial and meaningful. All that is required is an open mind and willing heart.
