Practitioners Commemorate the April 25 Appeal On April 25, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners from Auckland held a series of activities in front of the Chinese Consulate to commemorate the April 25 Appeal and called for an end to the nine-year-long persecution of Falun Gong. Candlelight vigil to commemorate practitioners who lost their lives in the persecution Practitioners demonstrate the exercises at the candlelight vigil. Practitioners held banners reading, "Commemorating the April 25 Appeal," and, "Stop the persecution of Falun Gong" in front of the Chinese Consulate. They demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and handed out truth-clarifying materials. Many passersby showed their supports for practitioners. ====================================================================================== On the evening of April 25, Wellington practitioners gathered outside the Chinese Embassy to hold a candlelight vigil commemorating the ninth anniversary of the historic April 25th appeal, and to protest the nine-year persecution of Falun Gong. The practitioners displayed banners which read, "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong" and "Commemorating the Ninth Anniversary of April 25th Peaceful Appeal." Many drivers honked their horns to show their respect to the practitioners. Practitioners held a candlelight vigil outside the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand commemorating the April 25th appeal
